I grew up in Windsor Vermont. I hunted and fished with family. We hunted Mount Ascutney. We fished the ponds and brooks in Windsor County as well as Lake Champlain with our grandfather. Opening day of hunting season was a special day. We would wake to the aroma of Dad cooking breakfast. Anticipation and excitement were high. When we arrived at the mountain we would gather with the Tansey family (our Aunt, Uncle, and cousins) and a new chapter in our family tradition would begin. I have brought that tradition forward to my family. The addition of grandchildren brings new hope to extend the tradition.
